Founded in 1855, Eureka, Illinois is a beautiful city located in Woodford County and has the honor of being the county seat of Woodford County. Residents can enjoy the small community feel centered on the intersection of US 24 and I 117, letting everyone enjoy quick and easy access to nearby Illinois cities in all directions. Eureka also has the honor of being one of the towns along the Ronald Reagan Trail, a series of roads that connect northern Illinois towns that were of great importance in Reagan’s early years.

Education is greatly valued in Eureka and their public school system is a true testament to this standard. Along with the public schools, there is also a variety of private and spiritual based schools to choose from for your children. For continuing education, there is Eureka College. Associated with the Disciples of Christ Christian Church, Eureka College is a private college and the alma mater of former president Ronald Reagan.

As a little known trivia fact, Eureka was once the “pumpkin capital of the world” until the pumpkin processing plant moved to Morton, IL.
